It is environmentally friendly and particularly popular among tourists: travelling around the entire lake by bike. The 268 km trip takes you through three countries in seven to eight days. If you start clock-wise, you will always be on the lake side of the road. The bike paths are generally flat, while those who run out of energy nonetheless can take the ship or train back home. Otherwise, don’t forget your passport and make sure you’re in the right mobile phone network. Shorter tours take you around the lower lake (Untersee), from Konstanz to Romanshorn or around Reichenau Island. The many well-kept walking and bicycle paths are also suitable for in-line skating.
