“Why do I love studying and – above all – living in Konstanz? I really love the summertime at Lake Constance. I can do yoga at the lake during a sunset, cool off in the water after lectures, or enjoy a glass of beer at Bismarckturm: studying in Konstanz includes all of this alongside long days in the library!”

Vicky, 24, studies Psychology at the University of Konstanz

“I love studying in Konstanz because I love going for a swim after lectures or taking a stroll through the city centre. In the summer it’s like being on holiday here, you can go swimming, canoeing, stand-up paddelboarding or sailing. In the evening, you can take a walk along the harbour promenade or have a beer or two in the university’s beer garden.

The Christmas market in winter is also lovely, or you can warm up with mulled wine on the campus. In no time you are in the Swiss or Austrian mountains for hiking or skiing, and in Konstanz there are so many lovely places to discover, such as the World Heritage Site Reichenau Island, Mainau Island with is abundance of flowers, or the cosy bars and restaurants in the city centre. For me it’s absolutely true: Living where others go on holiday.”

“Konstanz has it all: the lake, happy people, a relaxed atmosphere and a lot of nature. You really feel at home here, and as an athlete you have everything your heart desires. Downtown Konstanz also has everything you might want, without the hustle and bustle of a big city.”

“Konstanz / Kreuzlingen is my favourite place for studying because I can reach everything within 15 minutes on foot or by bike. It’s great that I can go for a walk or a jog in Switzerland whenever I like.”
